Dr. James W. Kirkconnell
Dr. Kirkconnell graduated from the University of Houston College of Optometry. He did his internship at the Naval Regional Medical Center in New Orleans, and he did his undergraduate work at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, LA.
He treats or manages Macular Degeneration, Diabetic Retinopathy, and Glaucoma. Our office has an OCT instrument that uses ultrasound to look closely at the Macula, and Optic Nerve, In the macular distortions can be seen in a 3D image and it checks for irregular depths of the photoreceptors, In regards to Glaucoma, the OCT can show abnormal cupping of the Optic Nerve and looks at the thickness of the retinal nerve fiber layers (RNL) that run 360 degrees to the Optic Nerve. Thinning of the RNL can detect glaucoma in its earliest stages. He evaluates patients for Cataracts, and will decide with you if you are at the point where Cataract surgery will help you. Our ophthalmologist Dr. Aaron Porter would then provide a consultation.Â
Other conditions routinely treated by Dr. Kirkconnell are pink eye, eye infections, corneal abrasions, removal of corneal foreign bodies, eye allergies, problems associated with contact lens wear, and dry eye syndrome.Â
One of his areas of expertise is fitting Multifocal Contacts so patients can see at distance, near, and at arm's length. He has successfully fit THOUSANDS of patients in Multifocal Contacts!
Dr. Aaron Porter
Dr. Porter has joined Bellevue Eyecare Center and provides cataract and LASIK surgeries when a patient needs Cataract surgery or wants LASIK surgery to reduce their dependency upon glasses. He is a graduate of University of Cincinnati College of Medicine and completed his Residency in Ophthalmology at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

Megan is our Office Manager. She will explain any vision benefits that you may have. She keeps the patient flow running smoothly. She is also skilled as an Optician!

Carlee is our Optician. She enjoys helping you find the right frame shape and color for your face, She has a flair for frame styling, and she is always smiling!
Crystal
Crystal is our Tech who will get you pre-tested before you see the doctor. Her sense of humor will set you at ease. She has a cat named Mutt who she spoils!
